101. PROGRESSIVE PROCESSION - SNACK, ART/SHOPPING, & LUNCH - DOWNTOWN RALEIGH
10am – 2pm – 4 hrs w/breakfast and lunch
From the Marriott City Center, we will walk to Big Ed’s, a landmark restaurant in Raleigh’s old city market place. Fortified with our southern-style biscuit, we’ll enjoy shopping at local businesses at the Market Place.
We will tour the work of local artesian at Artspace. Next we walk to enjoy an Appetizer at 101 Lounge and Café which provides a trendy, urban atmosphere and comfortable environment catering to daytime Raleigh downtown.
Then off to The Pit for some down-home eastern carolina barbecue.
Our “progressive lunch” concludes at The Crema on Fayetteville with coffee and dessert.

102. HISTORICAL WALKING TOUR OF FAYETTEVILLE STREET – DOWNTOWN RALEIGH
1pm – 5pm -- 4 hrs with lunch
Fayetteville Street – slowly evolved into the city’s business district. After the Civil War, Fayetteville Street rapidly became the commercial center of downtown.
We begin at The Pit for some down-home eastern carolina barbecue.
We will meet our Fayetteville Street guide at the Raleigh City Museum.
Stately buildings and historic architecture line the streets of downtown Raleigh, where history is honored with such historical sites as the Governor’s mansion, the State Capitol Building and President Andrew Johnson’s birth place of Raleigh.
Since its founding in 1902, the North Carolina Museum of History has been an exciting place to explore North Carolina history.
Guest will have the opportunity to remain at the museum for as long as they like, and walk back to the Marriott.

Find your creative streak! Enjoy the demonstration and then hands-on arranging. Take your display home or leave it for distribution to a local nursing home.

202. COOKING DEMO WITH IRON CHEF WALTER J. ROYAL OF THE ANGUS BARN
11am – 3pm -- 4 hrs w/lunch
Get a taste of what Southern Food is all about by attending one of our private Angus Barn cooking demonstrations. In this cooking demonstration and tasting, Chef Walter Royal – 2006 “Iron Chef America” will feature southern recipes that reflect the seasonal flavors of the Carolina’s.
Walter J. Royal is the executive chef of The Angus Barn Ltd. in Raleigh, North Carolina. Royal oversees the preparation of more than 5,000 pounds of beef every week. The 46 year-old chef flexes his creative muscles by developing special menus in the restaurant's exclusive Wine Cellar Room.
Participants will come away with some basic templates to operate from as they put food and wine together. You'll have a much better understanding of how to make positive matches happen in your own kitchens as well as outside dining experiences!
As a conclusion, the group will tour the Wine Cellar and visit the Country Store.
